XSS-Cross Site scripting attcks
These exist due to poor programming and coding and due to lack of input output validation of HTML code. These attacks are aimed at the client s or end users who uses the webpage/application.
In these attacks the attacker inserts/injects a malicious html code or any other script like java, asp etc into the existing html code of the webpage effecting all the victims who opens the webpage.
People who are the advanced users in Orkut a famous social networking site are much aware of these kind of attacks
The attacker may also inject a code which may redirect the user to an identical fake page and may steal his/her login information.
